Renishaw Hall And Gardens

Alex Sitwell and her family, who are the granddaughters of both the late Sir Reresby & Lady Sitwell, are the present owners of Renishaw Farm. Renishaw has been the home of this exceptional family for more than 400 years. Visitors may have a look around at some of the remarkable collections of artwork and historical items that have been assembled by several generations of the Sitwell family. Indeed, it is an unimaginably rich resource that is of incalculable use to both students and art enthusiasts. Portraits by Sargent, Salvatore Rosa, and Copley are among the treasures on display. Chippendale furniture, beautiful tapestries, paintings by Piper, & Blue John ceramics are among the treasures on display. Sir George Sitwell (1860-1943) designed the formal garden inside the classical Italianate style in 1895, and it was completed in 1896. A large portion of the garden was repaired and the geometric design was enhanced by Lady Sitwell as well as the late Sir Reresby.
