Find Things To Do In Kildare

Welcome to Kildare

Kildare, or Cill Dara in Irish, is a market town in Kildare County, Ireland. St. Brigit of Ireland, who formed a community there in the 5th century, is commemorated at the Protestant cathedral church (1229). In 1875, work on the restoration of the church began. There is an old cross and round tower beside the church, as well as the ruins of a 13th-century fortress and monastery. James II was the first to incorporate the town.
