Dundalk, located on Ireland’s Ancient East coast, has a long and illustrious cultural history dating back to at least 3500 BC. An Táin Arts Centre takes its name from the Táin Bó Cailnge, or Cooley Cattle Raid, a legend from early Irish literature that is supposed to have occurred on the neighbouring Cooley Peninsula.
An Táin Arts Centre, which is supported by Louth County Council and The Arts Council, has a 350-seat main theatre, a 55-seat studio theatre, a visual arts gallery, two workshop spaces, and is home to Bó Studios, a new artist workspace in Dundalk.
