Photographs of the port from the mid-nineteenth century are on exhibit, as are models of Arklow-built boats, tools, navigational equipment, artworks, and antiquities. Gypsy Moth III by Sir Francis Chichester is one of them. A functioning replica of a trawler’s wheelhouse controls is particularly appealing to youngsters.
They’re open all year, save for the holidays of Christmas and New Year’s. Group visits are welcome, and visits can be scheduled outside of regular business hours.
