The 12m diameter Dome, which was an emblem of the space age when it was first built, has seen the evolution of planetarium technology over the last half-century. Armagh pioneered the introduction of the video revolution into planetaria in the 1970s, starting with a Starball Goto projector. Armagh Planetarium now has a cutting-edge digital projector system that provides an immersive experience under the whole dome.
