Donegal had the greatest narrow-gauge railway network in the British Isles, and it also had one of the first railway vehicles with an internal combustion engine in the world, among steam engines and railcars. This intriguing museum honours Donegal’s railway history and is housed in one of the few remaining original station houses, which first opened in 1889. The recently renovated museum features railway rolling stock, unique artefacts, displays, a video presentation, model railways, a reference library, a store, and much more, including the traditional Donegal welcome!
Donegal Railway Heritage Centre
