The Downpatrick and County Down Railway passes through County Down’s drumlin scenery, St. Patrick’s Country, crosses the River Quoile, and passes beneath the beautiful Down Cathedral. There’s something for train aficionados of all ages, from small children to “big kids,” with a combination of steam and diesel trains, as well as vintage carriages. Membership in the group, which is run entirely by volunteers, grants you to free transportation.
