The gardens were designed by Japanese master gardener Tassa Eida and his son Minoru, and were commissioned by Colonel William Hall Walker, a rich Scotsman from a well-known brewing family. Their goal was to represent the ‘Life of Man’ through trees, plants, flowers, grass, rocks, and water. That plan was accomplished flawlessly, and Eida’s legacy is today treasured by the 120,000 people who come each year to enjoy the tranquilly of the gardens.
St. Fiachra’s Garden
