On Sea Road in Galway’s Westend, Kai Restaurant is sandwiched between a church and a homosexual nightclub. Before New Zealanders Jess and Carlow’s Dave Murphy arrived over 9 years ago and changed the room into what it is now, Kai, the property was home to a florist.
Kai means food in Maori, and they opened their doors in 2011 with a simple formula: high-quality fruit, preferably organic or wild, obtained locally, and cooked intelligently.
