The Kilbeggan Distilling Company, being Ireland’s oldest permitted distillery, has experienced its fair share of ups and downs. The distillery was founded in 1757 and spent the following 200 years producing a whiskey that is known all over the world. When the town’s gears came to a stop due to hard circumstances, the community banded together to rescue the whiskey that had created the town. They continued despite the fact that it was neither quick nor easy. Every bottle produced now is proof that Kilbeggan’s spirit has never faltered.
Kilbeggan Distillery Visitor Centre
The former distillery has been rebuilt as a museum of whiskey history, with most of the original machinery on exhibit.
