Rothe House & Garden, in the heart of Kilkenny City and at the midway of the Medieval Mile, is one of Ireland’s true hidden gems. The property on a burgage plot is the only one of its kind offered to the general public in Ireland. John Rothe Fitzpiers, a wealthy businessman and politician, used to live there. He built the three-house complex for his wife Rose Archer and their eleven children between 1594 and 1610.
