The Achill Experience encompasses many elements of Island life, both current and historical.
Achill Experience allows you to explore and learn about many different kinds of marine animals found in the seas surrounding Achill Island and across the world.
Many interesting tales from Achill’s rich and often sad past are on exhibit.
They also have first edition prints by the renowned American artist Robert Henri, who resided on Achill during the 1920s and depicted Pollagh and Dooagh children. They’re fantastic prints, and the colours truly bring the kids to life.
The Aquarium comprises of 16 tanks displaying various species found in the seas around Achill, which is on the Wild Atlantic Way. They also have a variety of tropical fish from all over the globe. You can get a closer look at catsharks, crabs, starfish, sea urchins, and scallops in our open-top tank.
